1) AOL And Endemol USA Announce Online Competition to Win an Island - ‘iLand’ Experience Premieres on AOL in 2008. AOL and Endemol USA today announced a groundbreaking interactive experience which will let users compete on AOL (http://www.aol.com) for the chance to win their own tropical island. The landmark competition appropriately named “iLand†will be produced for AOL by the world’s largest independent production company Endemol USA, producer of franchises such as Deal or No Deal, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Fear Factor and Big Brother.
2) iLand will be hosted by TV actress Brooke Burns.
3) “iLand†isn’t just a game – it’s a living social network. Players build profiles, compete in a series of online challenges, and test their mettle in front of an online audience. From there, one person will be given the chance to settle a remote tropical island – armed with only a laptop, wireless access, and the help of their online friends.
4) The online audience will choose new people to send to the island. They will also decide what to give to the stranded iLanders – supplies (helpful or not) and advice (both good and bad).
